Kia Seltos Becomes The First C-segment SUV To Offer 6 Airbags As Standard | V3Cars
Kia India have updated the current Seltos compact SUV with 6 airbags as standard across all variants. The Seltos now becomes the first compact SUV in India to offer 6 airbags as standard. With the feature revision, the lower variants of the new Seltos now cost Rs. 30,000 more than before. Kia have also increased the prices of mid and top variants by up to Rs. 30,000.

The Carens is the only other car in Kia’s India portfolio with 6 airbags as standard. Even the premium Kia Carnival gets only 2 airbags in its lower variants. It is worth noting that the Carnival is long due for a generation change in the Indian market. Kia had recently removed the details of Seltos petrol and diesel-ACMT powertrains from the website. However, with this price revision, the auto-clutch manual transmission is back.

With the new safety norms coming into effect from October 2022, all the new cars launching after October 2022 will have mandatory 6 airbags in all the variants. The deadline of the same for the ongoing cars will come into effect at a later date. However, Kia India have taken the lead to offer 6 airbags as standard in two of their offerings. A few months ago, Kia also updated the Sonet and started offering front side thorax airbags, tyre pressure sensors and a few other safety features as standard.
