2022 MG Hector Facelift 14-inch Touchscreen Teased | V3Cars

MG have recently released a teaser of the 2022 Hector facelift’s touchscreen infotainment. It will get a 14-inch display with a portrait orientation. This is not only the biggest infotainment system in its class, but also bigger than the ones we see in cars from a few segments above.

The images also reveal that the 2022 Hector facelift will get a new interior design as well. We can see horizontal AC vents instead of the vertical ones in the current Hector. The bezels of the screen will also house a few shortcut buttons to access the screen. We can also see a new design for the engine start-stop button and gear lever.

We can also expect advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), more connected car features, to join the 2022 Hector facelift’s feature list. The Hector is likely to continue with other features, such as ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, electric tailgate and 360-degree parking camera.

We expect the 2022 Hector facelift to continue with the same powertrain options as the current model. The Hector comes with 3 engine options; a 1.5L turbo petrol engine, a 1.5L mild-hybrid petrol engine and a 2.0L turbo diesel engine. The petrol engines produce 143PS of power at 5000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1600 and 3600rpm. These are available with the option of a 6-speed manual transmission and CVT automatic transmission. The 2.0L diesel engine makes 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750 and 2550rpm. This engine is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The Hector launched in India in 2019 and we expect the 2022 Hector to launch in the coming months. If it goes on sale before the festive season, then MG can cash in on the spending spree, which we indulge in during the festivities. This is the first major facelift for the Hector. We expect MG to also give a design refresh to the Hector Plus, which is the 6-seater version of the Hector with some design differences.
