The 2022 Toyota Glanza is here. It’s time now to compare the 2022 Glaza with the older model and see what has changed. In this old vs new comparison, we’ll compare the prices, engine specs and dimensions, as well highlight the new features of the 2022 Glanza facelift. Let’s start with the price comparison.

The new 2022 Glanza is available in 4 variants – E, S, G, and V. Prices for the 2022 Glanza start at Rs. 6.39 lakh and go up to Rs. 9.69 lakh ex-showroom. Variant to variant, the new model’s prices are Rs. 54,000 to Rs. 73,000 higher than before. With the 2022 Glanza, Toyota have added two new lower variants – E at Rs. 6.39 lakh and S at Rs. 7.29 lakh ex-showroom.
Toyota India now offer the 2022 Glanza with three automatic variants. While the G and V variants remain as is, a new S variant joins the range. The G AMT variant costs Rs. 16,000 less than the older Glanza G CVT. This is because an AMT (automated manual transmission) is much cheaper to produce than a CVT (continuously variable transmission). What is interesting though, is that the V AMT variant costs Rs. 3,000 more than the old V CVT. This is due to Toyota being able to offer more features with the AMT transmission at a lower price than that of the CVT variants of the old Glanza.

In terms of engine specs, the 2022 Glanza comes with a 1.2L normal petrol engine with Dual-jet technology. It comes with either a 5-speed manual or a new 5-speed AMT. The 5-speed AMT replaces the CVT, which was on offer with the older model.
The 1.2L normal petrol engine produces 90PS of power at 6000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4400rpm. It’s fuel efficiency for manual and AMT stand at 22.35kmpl and 22.94kmpl respectively. Thanks to the new AMT transmission, the fuel economy figures for the automatic variants have improved over that of the older CVT variants.
The 1.2L petrol engine in the new 2022 Glanza makes 7PS more power and the same torque as the older model. The automatic variants of the Glanza offer 3.38kmpl more mileage than the older CVT option. In the case of manual trims, fuel efficiency has gone up by 1.34kmpl.
The 2022 Toyota Glanza is now 5mm shorter in length and 10mm shorter in height than the old Glanza. However, the cabin width and the wheelbase remain the same as before. The boot space of the new Glanza is 318L, which is 21L less than the old Glanza’s 339L boot space.
