Toyota have started testing the 2023 Innova Crysta. A test car wearing heavy camouflage with a silhouette similar to that of the Innova Crysta was spied recently. The large doors and square-ish tailgate design are the key takeaways from the spy shots.
If you recall, Toyota India recently gave the Innova Crysta a mild facelift to keep it fresh for the new year. The latest spy shots, however, suggest that Toyota plan to launch an all-new generation Innova Crysta for 2023. The new generation Innova Crysta is expected to retain its body-on-frame architecture and rear-wheel-drive layout.

While the current-gen Toyota Innova Crysta is underpinned by the IMV platform, rumours suggest that the new one is likely to be based on the TNGA-B modular platform. However, it seems unlikely as the Innova Crysta is known for its robust body-on-frame platform. On the powertrain front, the 2023 Innova Crysta could offer a hybrid powertrain. It remains to be seen whether Toyota use a strong hybrid or a mild hybrid system to cope with the ever-stringent emission norms. It is worth noting that the same powertrain will also find its way under the bonnet of the next-gen Toyota Fortuner.

Close to home, Toyota India will reveal the prices of the much-awaited Hilux pick-up truck soon. Toyota India also plan to launch the new Glanza as well as the Urban Cruiser facelift in the coming weeks.
