2024 Tata Tigor XZ Plus With Cruise Control Reaches Dealers; Deliveries To Start Soon | V3Cars

We recently reported that the Tigor 2024 now gets cruise control in the XZ Plus variant. Now, we have learned that the updated Tigor variant with cruise control has started reaching dealers. Thus, we expect the deliveries to start soon.

Cars in the B2-sedan segment like the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Maruti Dzire have offered cruise control for some time now. Adding cruise control in the Tigor is a good move from Tata. Unfortunately, the Tigor CNG buyers will not get this feature. It’s fairly standard practice in the industry to not offer cruise control with affordable CNG cars

However, it’s up to us to ask for the feature from the manufacturers. Since the price gap between the XZ Plus petrol and CNG is consistent (Rs. 95,000), we expect Tata to offer this feature with the Tigor CNG as well. Or, they should at least bring the XZ Plus CNG price down to account for the lack of cruise control, which is otherwise available in the XZ Plus petrol.

While the Tigor and Tiago look the same from the inside, the brown steering accent confirms that this is a Tigor. The car recently got this new bronze exterior colour scheme, which gets matching interior accents.

The Dzire and Aura also don’t offer cruise control with their CNG powertrains. Tata Motors are bringing features to CNG cars that we thought we'd never get to see. Some examples:

Offering a usable boot space
Proving option of AMT automatic with CNG
Bringing CNG bi-fuel option to turbo charged engines (upcoming Nexon CNG)

If there’s any brand that can challenge the industry norms and offer cruise control in CNG cars, it has to be Tata Motors. After all, 1.2L CNG cars are plenty capable of cruising on the highways closer to the speed limits. The access to CNG filling stations has also expanded in recent years making it a feasible option for CNG cars to spend time on the highways.
