In this August 2023 Toyota car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of Toyota for the previous month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM changes to find out which Toyota cars’ sales improved and which ones declined. Lastly, the table with monthly sales for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend of all Toyota cars.
August 2023 - Toyota Car Sales Figures - YoY Change
- The only car to lose sales in August 2023 compared to August 2022 was the Glanza hatchback. Toyota reported a decline of 2.62% in dispatches of the Glanza when compared to August of last year.
- Amongst the high-volume cars from Toyota, Innova Crysta, and Hycrosss’ combined numbers show a growth of over 43% in the August YoY comparison analysis.
- On the other hand, low-volume cars like Camry and Hilux saw triple-digit growth in terms of percentage, 192%, and 565% respectively.
- Vellfire luxury MPV dispatches dropped to 0 in August 2023 from 112 in August 2022.
- Urban Cruiser dispatches declined over the last few months and in November for the first time, Toyota dispatched zero units of B2-segment SUV. It was discontinued by the carmaker soon after.
- Toyota dispatched 3,131 units of the Urban Cruiser SUV in August 2023.

August 2023 - Toyota Car Sales Figures - MoM Change
- Most cars from Toyota saw a decline in MoM sales comparison for August 2023, with the exception of the Hyryder SUV.
- Hilux reported a 38.43% MoM drop in August compared to July.
- Glanza reported the worst MoM decline with a 40.19% in August over July 2023, becoming the top MoM gainer for the month.
- Fortuner witnessed an MoM sales decline of about 9.72%.
