BS6-Compliant 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid Launched At Rs. 37.88 Lakh
Toyota Kirloskar Motor India just announced the prices of the BS6-compliant 2020 Camry hybrid. It costs Rs. 37.88 lakh, which is Rs. 38,000 more than the BS4 version. The price increase goes towards cleaning up the emissions and adding a few extra features. Notable additions include a head-up display, ventilated front seats and a JBL sound system.

The 2020 model continues with its 2.5-litre hybrid powertrain, which is capable of generating a combined power of 218PS. The engine here develops 178PS of power and 221Nm of torque while the electric motor contributes another 120PS of power and 202Nm of torque. There’s only a CVT automatic transmission available. The BS6 model of the full-size sedan promises a fuel efficiency of 23.27kmpl. As is the case with hybrid powertrains, you can expect closer to the advertised fuel efficiency figure in the real world compared to non-hybrid petrol cars in the segment. Besides keeping the engine and transmission options limited to 1, Toyota also kept the variant range simple as there’s only 1, fully-loaded variant to pick.
Notable features of the 2020 Camry hybrid are:
- Electrically-adjustable front seats with ventilation
- Power-adjustable steering column
- Cruise control
- Electric rear sunshades
- Panoramic sunroof
- 3-zone climate control
- Electronic parking brake
- 9 airbags
The Camry competes with the Skoda Superb in the full-size sedan segment. Given the price point, it also has to face some competition from the mid-size luxury sedan, which offer higher snob value than a Toyota badge.
The 2020 Camry BS6 is available in the 7 following colours:
- Red
- Silver
- Grey
- Brown
- White
- Attitude Black
- Burning Black
