The 2019 Lexus ES 300h sedan is one of the most anticipated cars by the automaker in the Indian market. Since, the luxury automaker showcased the latest-generation ES 300h sedan in April this year, the launch speculations about the luxurious sedan has been making rounds. The sedan has already been spied testing several times and has revealed the styling tweaks and more safety features as the details has already been leaked on the internet. Now, the latest reports say that the Toyota owned luxury brand Lexus is all set to launch the ES 300h in August this year.
Riding on Toyota’s TNGA platform that also underpins the Camry and several other Toyota models, the 2019 Lexus ES 300h gets mildly tweaked headlamps, with new LED inserts along with Lexus’ trademark ‘Spindle Grille’ that is now more sharp and now gets vertical slats instead of horizontal ones on the outgoing car. Chrome around the fog lamps on the slightly tweaked bumper is another highlight of the luxurious ES 300h sedan. Other updates come in the form of safety features including pre-collision warning and steer assist.
The latest generation Lexus ES 300h luxury sedan comes visually more appealing and it also gets a wide range of new features over the current model. The 2019 Lexus ES 300h will also offer the front bumper with multiple styling changes that will come on the refreshed model. In terms of styling, the upcoming Lexus ES 300h looks like the new Lexus LS full-size sedan. Though on the LS, the LED Daytime Running Light “swoosh” is less embedded into the light cluster than it is on the ES, however there is less separation between the two, making the entire unit look a little bulkier than it does on the LS.
At the inside, the 2019 Lexus ES300h sedan will be offered with a revamped interior with features including a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition technology while the digital instrument cluster too comes as digital and the sedan clearly takes inspiration from LS. The new Lexus ES will come to India with more features than its predecessor, including a power-recline feature for the rear seats. Also new to the ES is the option to slide the front passenger seat forward via a button on the B-pillar to free-up legroom at the back. There is a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system delivering supreme quality sound. Other features include power-reclining rear seats and sliding front passenger seat among others.
Under the hood, the 2019 Lexus ES 300h doesn’t get any change and will continue to come with the same 2.5 litre four cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor providing a combined output of 215 Bhp and 213 Nm of peak torque. The engine will come mated to a 5-speed CVT.
The premium sedan will be launched as a CBU in the Indian market, and is likely to be priced somewhere around 60 Lakh. When launched, the upcoming Lexus ES 300h will take against the likes of the Mercedes Benz E-Class and BMW 5-Series in the country.
