Hyundai Exter Vs Casper - Are These The Same Cars? - Opinion | V3Cars

When Hyundai showcased the Casper, there were a lot of hopes that it’d come to India to challenge the Punch. Now that Hyundai India have confirmed the name of their Punch and Fronx rival, it begs the question — are the Casper and the Punch the same with different names?

Hyundai Exter Vs Hyundai Casper

In this Hyundai Exter vs Casper design comparison, we’ll compare the side profiles of the 2 cars to find out if the Casper is the one we’re getting in India as Exter. Based on the outlines of the 2 cars, we’ll provide an opinion on the upcoming Hyundai Exter SUV.

Hyundai Exter Vs Casper - Side Profile Comparison

So far, Hyundai have only revealed the outline of the Exter SUV. Even the revealed outline doesn’t have the wheels and complete side profile of the Hyundai Exter. However, if we compare the equivalent upper side design of the Exter with the Casper, then you’ll notice that the 2 cars have a drastically different silhouette.

The Casper has a much more boxy design compared to the Exter. The Casper’s windshield is fairly upright while the Exter’s is pretty raked. The Hyundai Casper also has a flat top with roof rails merging into the spoiler. Meanwhile, the Exter’s outline shows the sloping roofline with a somewhat upright rear windshield. The Casper’s windshield has a slightly sharper rake angle compared to the Exter’s.

Are The Casper And Exter Same?

The differences between the Casper and Exter’s side design mentioned in the previous section clearly confirm that the Exter and the Casper are totally different cars. Moreover, the Exter seems like a better fit for the Indian market. The Casper is a small car for more mature markets where buyers are willing to pay a top dollar even for a small car.

Casper

In India, we often equate size with the cost of the vehicle. So, the Casper would have had a tough time competing with the Punch and Fronx. After all, it’s smaller than the Santro in length but packs features like a sunroof and cruise control.
