Kia Seltos Turbo Petrol Delisted From Website | V3Cars

The Kia Seltos recently received an update featuring BS6 phase-2 compliant petrol and diesel engine options. While Kia are yet to reveal the details about this update, the carmaker has delisted the Seltos’ turbo petrol variants from their website.

Kia Seltos Turbo Petrol Delisted

Kia have removed the turbo petrol variants of the Seltos SUV from their India website. The top variants of the Seltos were offered with the 1.35L turbo petrol engine (1.4L in Kia’s speak). The same engine also powered other Kia and Hyundai offerings like the Carens MPV and Creta SUV. It is worth mentioning that the 1.35L turbo petrol engine has not received updates to meet the BS6 phase-2 emission norms.

Kia Seltos 1.5L Turbo Petrol Launch Likely Soon

Since the turbo petrol engine of the Seltos is no longer on sale, the top variants of the Seltos are now only available with the 1.5L turbo diesel engine. Hence, we expect Kia to add the new 1.5L turbo petrol engine to the Seltos soon. The same 1.5L turbo petrol engine also powers other Kia and Hyundai cars like the Carens, Alcazar and soon-to-be-launched Verna.

Hyundai-Kia’s new 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 20PS more power and 11Nm more torque than the earlier 1.35L turbo petrol engine. The new engine could come with 3 transmission choices — 6-speed manual, 6-speed auto clutch manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Currently, Kia offer the Seltos with a 1.5L normal petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine. Both engines of the 2023 Seltos are now BS6 phase-2 and road driving emissions norms compliant.
