Mahindra have launched the Thar Earth Edition which takes inspiration from the Thar desert. Priced at Rs. 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom), the Thar Earth Edition offers several unique features to help it stand apart from the standard Thar SUV.
Mahindra Thar Earth Edition – What’s New?
The Thar Earth Edition is available in a single colour – Desert Fury (beige) – with a satin matte finish. The dune-inspired decals on the doors and front fender and ‘Earth Edition’ badges on the B-pillar are other unique elements that are only available with the Thar Earth Edition. The alloy wheels in the Thar Earth Edition get a silver finish with beige inserts while the badges get a matte-black finish. The body-coloured grille and ORVM covers are also other unique elements that are limited to the Thar Earth Edition.
Inside the cabin, the special edition Thar gets dual-tone leatherette seat upholstery with contrast beige stitching and dune-like embossing on the headrests. It also gets beige accents for the AC vent surrounds, centre console, door panels and steering wheel. The SUV also gets a decorative VIN plate with the serial number starting with ‘1’.
The Thar Earth Edition does not get any features over the Thar LX Hard Top variant. Feature highlights of the Thar Earth Edition include:

Thar Earth Edition Ex-Showroom Prices

Thar Earth Edition Powertrain Specs
The Thar Earth Edition gets 2 engine options – a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. Both engines are available with 2 transmission options – 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission – and 4-wheel-drive as standard.
The 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine produces 150PS of power and 300Nm of torque while the 2.2-litre diesel engine puts out 130PS of power and 300Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine with 2-wheel-drive is not available with the Thar Earth Edition.
