Although MG has not revealed any details of the 7-seater Hector Plus, we expect it to be identical to its 6-seat version, save for a bench-type seat in the second row instead of the captain seats.
Under the hood, the 7-seater Hector Plus should be available with both petrol and diesel engines -- the same that the Hector gets. The petrol engine on offer is a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit making 143PS and 250Nm, mated to either a 6-speed MT or 6-speed DCT. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is a 2.0-litre engine making 170PS and 350Nm, mated to a 6-speed MT. The Hector Plus also gets a 48V mild-hybrid system with the petrol engine but it is limited with a 6-speed MT only.
The Hector Plus 7-seater is expected to get up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, hill hold control, electronic stability control and traction control. Other expected features include LED headlamps, panoramic sunroof, auto AC with rear AC vents, ambient lighting, cruise control, powered tailgate, powered front seats and a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and connected car tech.
Prices of the 7-seater Hector Plus are expected to start at a slight premium over the Hector Plus 6-seater, which retails from 13.73 lakh to Rs 18.68 lakh (ex-showroom India). The price of the Hector Plus is expected to go up as the carmaker has also announced a price hike.
