American car major, Ford has confirmed that the company will be taking the wraps off the next generation Fiesta on 29th of November, 2016. The all new Ford Fiesta is expected to go on sale in the car markets of Europe in early 2017. The upcoming new model of the Ford Fiesta will be in its seventh generation.
To introduce the all new Ford Fiesta, the American auto giant will be conducting a special event that will take place in Cologne, Germany. The unveiling ceremony of the next generation Ford Fiesta will be graced by Ford’s President and CEO, Mark Field and the President & Executive Vice President of Ford Europe, Jim Farley.
When talking about the next generation model of the Ford Fiesta premium hatchback model, the car will be coming with a whole host of improvements in order to fight with its many capable and dashing competitors in its own segment. Nothing concrete is yet known about the next-gen model of the car, as Ford has been guarding all the details very carefully, all of which will be revealed only at the unveiling event of the model. However, the new generation Fiesta is expected to flaunt an evolutionary design language and come as a more matured and sophisticated looking car as compared to the ongoing model.
The next generation Ford Fiesta is also expected to grow in size as that’s the trend with almost all new-gen car models. The current generation UK-spec Fiesta measures 3,969 mm /3,982 mm long, 1,978 mm wide including wing mirrors and 1,495 mm tall. The upcoming seventh generation model will be based on the enhanced version of the same B-platform which underpins the ongoing model. The car should be packed fully with all the latest technologies offered in the new small cars from Ford, including the SYNC 3 infotainment system.
The all new Ford Fiesta will be offered for sale in a 3-door hatchback and a 5-door hatchback version as the spy pictures have confirmed so far, while it also be offered in the sedan and estate body styles. A latest report has also confirmed that the premium Vignale trim model will be also offered for sale right from the time of the car’s official market launch.
As far as the under the hood details are concerned, again nothing concrete is known so far and Ford has been tight lipped about it. However, the company has said that the all new Ford Fiesta will be a more fun to drive car as against its predecessor. As rumor mills never stop churning, it is being speculated that the European-spec all new Fiesta is likely to come powered exclusively with the powerful three and four-cylinder mills along with turbochargers. In the car markets outside Europe, these new ‘Dragon’ motors might be offered as options.
As for the Indian market, Ford had brought the Fiesta sedan that could not fetch much attention from the Indian car buyers. However, it is speculated that the new-gen Fiesta is going to come to India, as there is no sedan model from the house of Ford India
