Japanese automaker Nissan has commenced dispatching the first lot of its new Kicks SUV to its authorized dealerships in India. The Nissan Kicks is being manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility based in Chennai, India. The Kicks compact SUV is all ready to officially launch in the Indian auto market on 22nd of January, 2019, when its price list will be announced. Most of the other aspects of the new SUV have already been revealed. Post the Kicks hits the dealerships, the prospective buyers will be able to test drive the SUV before booking it. The company opened the pre-bookings of the Kicks SUV in December, 2018 for an advanced payment of Rs. 25,000.
Going by the official images of the Nissan Kicks SUV being dispatched from the company’s Chennai plant also reveals another new detail about the SUV, which is monotone exterior paint option. The pictures show the Kicks donned in a red monotone exterior colour shade, while there is also one shown in black monotone exterior paint option. Earlier, the Nissan Kicks was only revealed in dual-tone shades such as black and red, and grey and orange colour schemes. Thus, the Nissan Kicks is likely to launch with various exciting colours and combinations of colours.
Nissan had also revealed some of the features of its Kicks SUV, which will be placed as a more premium urban SUV in India. It will be a highly feature-rich vehicle and the known features include ABS with EBD and automatic climate control as standard across all variants. The range topping variant will boast of LED projector headlights, LED DRLs, an 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 17 inch alloy wheels, leather seat upholstery, automatic headlamps, rain sensing wipers, cruise control, cornering fog lamps and a class-first 360 degree parking camera among others.
The Kicks compact SUV will be offered in the Indian car market in both petrol and diesel fuel versions. Both the versions come equipped with 4-cylinder 1.5 litre engines. The petrol engine has the capability of generating a max power output of 106 PS, while the diesel motor is good to belt out a max power of 110 PS. Both the engine choices will be coming paired to only a manual transmission gearbox at the time of launch, while an automatic option might be on the cards for later.
Post its launch in the domestic car market of India, the Nissan Kicks compact SUV will be fighting against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, and its French cousin the Renault Captur. The Kicks is likely to be priced in the range of around Rs. 10 lakhs to Rs. 14 lakhs.
Nissan India also announced that all the customers who opt to book the Kicks in its launch month January, 2019 can participate in a lucky draw. In this lucky draw, 500 winners will get the chance to fly to England and Wales to watch the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. The ICC Cricket World Cup starts from 30th May this year, and the Nissan Kicks is an official car for the event.
