Tata Motors Tease New SUV — Is It The Harrier Facelift? | V3Cars

Tata Motors released a new teaser recently that hints towards the imminent launch of an SUV. The new teaser was released with the hashtags #newforever and #IndianSUV, which leads us to believe Tata Motors are gearing up to launch an updated SUV rather than an all-new model.

Harrier Facelift

With the Punch continuing to drive impressive sales for Tata Motors, we expect the homegrown carmaker to update the Harrier SUV soon. Spy shots of the Harrier facelift surfaced online recently, revealing key changes. The Harrier facelift will feature a couple of design updates, including a new grille and tweaked LED headlights and tail lights.

In terms of features, the Harrier facelift is likely to get a 360-degree parking camera and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). The surround view camera will certainly help owners park the Harrier in tight spots more easily whereas ADAS will enhance the safety of passengers on highways. In addition to that, the Harrier facelift is also likely to offer a bigger and better touchscreen infotainment system.

On the inside, we can expect the new Harrier facelift to offer a tweaked dashboard layout along with new seat upholstery. However, we do not expect any changes in terms of storage spaces. The Harrier facelift will continue to offer features like 6 airbags, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and ventilated front seats.

With the Harrier facelift, Tata Motors are also likely to update the 2.0L turbo diesel engine to meet the more stringent BS6 Phase-2 emission norms with RDE compliance. The FCA-sourced engine is likely to produce the same 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque at 1750rpm and 2500rpm. It will continue to be offered with the option a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. We do not expect Tata Motors to offer a petrol engine with the Harrier or the Safari anytime soon.
