On the powertrain front, the Punch borrows its 1.2L normal petrol engine from the Tiago, Tigor and Altroz. It produces 86PS of power at 6000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 3300rpm. It comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). We expect Tata Motors to soon offer a turbo petrol engine along with a CNG option as well. Needless to say, the modular platform of the Tata Punch also supports electrification and a Punch EV is also in the pipeline.
