Toyota Glanza CNG Expected Vs Revealed Prices — How Close Were We? | V3Cars

Toyota have launched the Glanza CNG in India and along with its cousin, the Maruti Nexa Baleno, it's the only premium CNG hatchback in the country. Before its launch, we estimated the prices of the Glanza CNG and now that it’s on sale, let’s see how close our expected prices were to the actual prices.

As you can see from the table above, our expected prices for the Glanza CNG were the same as the actual prices that Toyota revealed. We calculated our expected price based on the fact that Maruti Suzuki are charging a premium of Rs. 95,000 for the Baleno CNG over its corresponding petrol variants. Like the Baleno CNG, the Glanza CNG comes in 2 variants — S at Rs. 8.43 lakh and G at Rs. 9.46 lakh.

Another interesting point to note is that while a leaked homologation document revealed Toyota would launch 3 variants of the Glanza CNG, we firmly believed it would only come in 2 variants, namely S and G. Launching the Glanza CNG in the top-spec V variant wouldn’t have been feasible because its ex-showroom price would have crossed Rs. 10 lakh mark. Secondly, it would not have been feasible to offer an exclusive variant to the Glanza over the Baleno CNG, given that both the models share a common assembly line and the Baleno CNG also comes in 2 variants only.

With the G variant, the Glanza CNG offers features such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 16-inch alloy wheels, 6 airbags, a full-colour MID, LED projector headlights, LED DRLs, LED tail lights and 60:40 rear seat split.

Currently, the Toyota Glanza CNG and Maruti Nexa CNG are the only premium hatchbacks with a factory-fitted CNG option. Meanwhile, we expect Tata Motors to introduce the Altroz CNG real soon.
