Toyota Innova Electric Concept Revealed | V3Cars

Toyota have unveiled the Innova Electric at the Indonesian motor show and it could go on sale in global markets soon. The Innova Electric looks similar to the current-gen Innova Crysta, albeit with some cosmetic updates to reflect its green credentials.

Speaking of the cosmetic updates, the Innova Electric gets a blanked-out grille at the front. The flat grille houses a unique design element that connects the LED headlights. The headlights get blue inlets, like most other EVs on the market. The side profile remains the same as the regular Innova, save for a new set of alloys and special decals. At the rear, the Innova Electric gets clear-lens taillights along with ‘Electric’ badging on the boot.

On the inside, the cabin layout of the Innova Electric is similar to that of the regular Innova Crysta. However, the analogue instrument console gets blue surrounds and the touchscreen displays vital battery specs and range. We can also see wooden inserts on the dashboard along with automatic climate control in the official video.

We expect Toyota to reveal the battery and performance specs of the Innova EV closer to the unveiling of the production model. As it sits on the ICE platform of the Innova, we do not expect any changes in terms of ergonomics or space. Closer to home, Toyota India have started testing the next-generation Innova Crysta. It remains to be seen if Toyota India decide to offer the Innova Electric in the Indian market or stick to their EV plans with Maruti Suzuki.
