New compact SUVs that are coming to India
The compact SUV models are a rage across the globe and this is also true for the Indian car market. The compact SUV and the sub-compact SUV models have been particularly gaining great attention of the consumers.

The Tata Nexon was grabbed eyeballs at the 2016 Auto Expo with its new Impact design philosophy which offer fresh and premium visual appeal.
The upcoming Tata Nexon will be a sub-4-meter compact SUV and post launch will fight with the very popular Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra TUV300 and Ford EcoSport. The Nexon is expected to come packed with the 1.2L Revotron petrol mill and a new 1.5L diesel motor. There will be manual and AMT gearbox options as well. The Nexon is expected to launch by early 2017 with an expected price tag of around Rs. 7 Lakhs.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis
India’s leading car maker, Maruti Suzuki received great success with its latest product - Vitara Brezza sub-compact SUV. Now, the company is bracing up to increase its hold on the compact SUV market of India with the much awaited Ignis.
The Maruti Suzuki Ignis crossover will be a coming as a premium micro SUV and it garnered great amount of praises at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Ignis will be an aggressively styled mini SUV with the dimensions of a hatchback making it a highly city friendly car.
The Ignis will come powered by the new 1.0L Booster Jet petrol mill and the 1.2L engine and is expected to launch by mid-2017 with an expected starting price of Rs. 5 Lakhs. Read More
Mahindra Tivoli SUV
Indian car maker, Mahindra is planning to launch a new compact SUV based on the Tivoli from the stable of its Korean subsidiary, SsangYong. Mahindra is said to be tweaking the Tivoli to suit the Indian requirements. It will be based on the Tivoli’s platform and will most probably come with a new name.
This new compact SUV from Mahindra will share most features and design cues with the SsangYong Tivoli and get a 1.5L diesel mill and a new 1.5L petrol engine. It is expected to launch next year with a price range of around Rs. 8 to 10 Lakhs.
Hyundai surprised everyone by unveiling the unexpected Carlino concept SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Carlino will also be a sub-4-meter mini SUV model and will be locking horns with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza after it hits the Indian market.
The Hyundai Carlino sub-compact SUV will be based on the Creta and will share some features with the Elite i20. It is likely to get equipped with 1.2L engine range. This SUV model is likely to launch in 2018 with an expected tag of Rs. 7 Lakhs onwards.
Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze
The Polo based concept compact SUV was showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and the car will be designed with the pioneering T-Cross concept and will be built on the advanced MQB AO platform and this same platform will be used to engineer the next-gen Polo hatchback.
This forthcoming car is going to be packed with futuristic features, and from the details of the concept car, it was discovered that this is a two door convertible car, and the exterior design cues will be inspired from Volkswagen Tiguan and the car will hence have latest design philosophy.
