German auto major, Volkswagen has recently launched a special edition model of the popular Polo premium hatchback. Named as the Volkswagen Polo AllStar, the limited edition model has been launched at Rs. 7.51 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The German car major will be commencing the deliveries of this limited edition model in a phased manner across the country. The new Volkswagen Polo AllStar Edition has gone on sale only in the North Indian cities for now. However, the model will be soon launched in other Indian regions as well.

The new special edition model of the Polo hatchback has come braced with a number of cosmetic upgrades along with many new added features. The new Volkswagen Polo AllStar limited edition model is available on the Highline model trim. Among the several newly added features that have been endowed to the Polo AllStar limited edition model, there is a new added exclusive Silk Blue body color option, which is actually offered in its compact sedan sibling Volkswagen Ameo. The other exterior features of the Polo AllStar edition include new more stylish 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels which also comes with a multi-spoke design. And the AllStar logo is definitely there on the special edition model and is visible on the car’s B-pillars as well as scuff plates.

When it comes to the interiors of this limited edition model, Volkswagen has endowed it with many new added features. It now comes with rear AC vents, which makes the Polo only the second model in India’s premium hatchback segment after the Hyundai i20 to offer this creature comfort feature. This model also boasts of new premium upholstery with attractive striping in the centre, adjustable driver’s side armrest and sporty aluminum finished pedals to complete the look.

Under the hood though, nothing has changed. As the Volkswagen Polo AllStar limited edition model it just gets added features and some cosmetic upgrades and not any mechanical upgrades. Thus, it continues to get powered by the same 1.2-liter petrol motor and the 1.5-liter diesel mill choices, but it won't be available on the regular Polo’s GT TSI as well as TDI versions. The stock version comes equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission and is acclaimed as one of the most driver friendly cars in its own class.

Volkswagen has been also busy with the process of updating the Polo hatchback and the Vento premium sedan models in India for some time now, and the mildly refreshed models are expected to hit the car market of India in the coming months. As per the many spy pictures of the new facelift Polo and Vento, the cars will flaunt added features such as LED DRLs, new infotainment unit with integrated touchscreen along with MirrorLink support, and the rear AC vents are also likely to be offered as well. Volkswagen has already updated the 1.5-liter diesel version of the Vento with the Ameo compact sedan's EA189 mill that offers more power of 108 Bhp and also powers the refreshed Skoda Rapid.
