Stellantis and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles marked two decades of collaboration by signing a new memorandum of understanding. The agreement aimed to explore additional opportunities across manufacturing, engineering and supply chain operations. The milestone reflected the long-standing joint venture between the two automotive companies.

Stellantis and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles have marked 20 years of partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to explore further collaboration opportunities. The milestone commemorates two decades of successful operations through their 50:50 joint venture, Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL), and signals intent to expand cooperation across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain activities in India and overseas.

Since the inception of the partnership, FIAPL has produced more than 1.37 million vehicles. The joint venture currently employs nearly 5,000 people and has an annual production capacity of approximately 222,000 vehicles. At present, the facility manufactures four Jeep models and three Tata Motors passenger vehicles, reflecting the breadth and strength of the collaboration.

Leveraging Stellantis’ global expertise and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ strong local capabilities, FIAPL has built robust competencies across manufacturing, powertrain, and supply chain operations. These strengths have laid a solid foundation for exploring future avenues of collaboration and scaling capabilities in line with evolving industry requirements.
