Even after the addition of AC and power steering, there are many basic features missing in the S-Presso LXI, which are rather essential in all p personal cars. These include - body coloured bumpers, day/night IRVM, central locking, audio system and front power windows. Without these features, any car would be incomplete.

Hence, we can’t recommend even the S-Presso LXI or the LXI(O) variants.

The S-Presso VXI variant is almost Rs 24,000 costlier than the LXI variant. Again the VXI (O) variant offers a passenger side airbag and front seatbelt with pretensioners for an additional premium of Rs 6,000.

The S-Presso VXI variant adds a number of must-have features to the package, such as - remote central locking with speed sensing auto door lock, front power windows, front speakers, phone dock with bluetooth connectivity, body coloured bumpers and 14-inch wheels with full wheel covers.

Moreover, as per our internal data, you won’t be compromising on value even if you go for the S-Presso VXI(O) variant. This is because, Maruti Suzuki is charging a reasonable incremental cost for these variants’ additional features.

The VXI(O) variant also comes with a AMT gearbox option, which comes for an additional premium of Rs 50,000.

Although the VXI(O) variant ticks all the right boxes, if you are considering the petrol-manual or petrol-AMT powertrain of the S-Presso, then we would strongly recommend that you choose the VXI+ instead of the VXI(O) variant. We’ll give the reason behind this after we look into the details of the next VXI+ variant.

For buyers, who wish to buy the CNG version of the S-Presso, the VXI(O) variant is the best option to choose.

In the CNG’s case, the incremental cost is of Rs 80,000, which is on the higher side as compared to most aftermarket CNG kits.

However, for the peace of mind for the factory-warranty and better installation, this premium can be paid.

The VXI+ variant adds a handful of meaningful features including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and steering-mounted controls.

This variant also comes with body coloured ORVMs and door handles.

You can view the additional features of the 2021 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso VXI+ variant over the VXI(O) variant in the table below:

Although the VXI+ variant does not add any must-have features, its asking extra premium for its additional features is very less.

Thus, we would strongly recommend choosing the VXI+ variant over the VXI(O) variant for all the buyers. This recommendation is true in case of both manual and AMT options.

2021 Maruti Suzuki S-Presso - Which Variant to Buy?

Now, let’s conclude by giving a brief recommendation for all the variants of the S-Presso, to simplify your buying decision.

The Std, LXI and VXI variants do not come with passenger side airbag, and hence we are not recommending these variants. The Std(O) and LXI(O) lack many basic features, which we feel that all cars must have. That is why, again, we can’t recommend these variants for any buyer.

If you are considering buying the S-Presso with the petrol-manual powertrain, then we would recommend that you choose the VXI+ variant. The VXI variant covers most of the basic features, and you won’t compromise on the value by choosing it. The VXI+ variant’s incremental cost is also nominal considering its added features.

So, for those who are looking to buy the S-Presso with the petrol-manual powertrain, the VXI+ variant is our top recommendation.
