India’s Rarest Hybrid SUV On Our Real-World Fuel Efficiency Test
Team V3Cars shares the real-world fuel efficiency report of the Lexus RX500h and the variation in mileage based on city and highway driving conditions.
The RX500h features a 2.4-litre, turbo-petrol hybrid powertrain. The petrol engine alone produces 272PS of maximum power and 460Nm of peak torque.
In addition, it gets front and rear electric motors, taking the total system output to 371PS. Unlike most hybrids that use a CVT or e-CVT, the RX500h comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission with a wet multi-plate start clutch, which Lexus categorises under the AMT family for sharper response and performance-focused driving.
In this video, we evaluate its real-world city and highway fuel efficiency, analyse how the turbo-petrol hybrid setup impacts mileage, and see whether it behaves more like a traditional turbo-petrol SUV or a typical efficiency-focused hybrid.
The RX500h is available in a single F-Sport Plus variant and is priced at around Rs 1.10 crore (ex-showroom) in India.
