Let’s first look at the prices of both the cars for the petrol-manual powertrain.
With the petrol-manual powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx’s prices start at Rs. 7.47 lakh and top out at Rs. 11.64 lakh. The Tata Nexon’s petrol-manual range costs between Rs. 7.8 lakh and Rs. 12.35 lakh.
The Fronx petrol-automatic is available in 5 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 8.88 lakh to Rs. 13.14 lakh. The Nexon’s 14 petrol-automatic variants cost between Rs. 9.45 lakh and Rs. 13 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx is not available with diesel-manual powertrain. The Nexon diesel-manual is available in 16 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 13.7 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx is not available with diesel-automatic powertrain. The Nexon diesel-automatic is available in 12 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 11.4 lakh to Rs. 14.35 lakh.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx and the Tata Nexon are both SUVs. The Fronx is 3995mm long, 1765mm wide and 1550mm tall. The Fronx’s wheelbase is 2520mm long. The Nexon measures 3995mm long, 1790mm wide and 1685mm tall and has a wheelbase measuring 2500mm. In terms of dimensions, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is considerably smaller than the Tata Nexon. So, the Nexon will offer a stronger road presence than the Fronx.
The Fronx has a ground clearance of 190mm while the Nexon has a ground clearance of 200mm. The 308-litre boot space of the Fronx is 20 litres smaller than that of the Nexon.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is available with 2 petrol engines - a 1.2L normal petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine. The 1.2L normal petrol gets a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission, while the 1.0L turbo petrol is available with a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed TC automatic transmission.
The 1.2L normal petrol engine of the Fronx makes 90PS of power at 6000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 4400rpm. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine in the Maruti Suzuki Fronx pushes out 100PS of power at 5500rpm and 148Nm of torque between 2000 and 4500rpm.
The Tata Nexon is only available with a 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which is available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT automatic transmission. The Nexon’s 1.2L turbo petrol engine makes 120PS of power at 5500rpm and 170Nm of torque between 1750 and 4000rpm.

The Tata Nexon only gets a 1.5L turbo diesel engine, which is available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT automatic transmission. The Nexon’s turbo diesel engine makes 110PS of power at 4000rpm and 260Nm of torque between 1500 and 2750rpm.
