Let’s first look at the prices of both the cars for the petrol-manual powertrain.
With the petrol-manual powertrain, the MG Astor’s prices start at Rs. 10.32 lakh and top out at Rs. 14.68 lakh. The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross’s petrol-manual range costs between Rs. 8.95 lakh and Rs. 11.72 lakh.
The Astor petrol-automatic is available in 7 variants with prices ranging from Rs. 13.48 lakh to Rs. 18.23 lakh. The S-Cross’s 3 petrol-automatic variants cost between Rs. 11.25 lakh and Rs. 12.92 lakh.
The MG Astor and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross are not available with diesel engines.

MG Astor Vs Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Dimension Comparison
The MG Astor and the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross are both SUVs. The Astor is 4323mm long, 1809mm wide and 1650mm tall. The Astor’s wheelbase is 2585mm long. The S-Cross measures 4300mm long, 1785mm wide and 1595mm tall and has a wheelbase measuring 2600mm. In terms of dimensions, the MG Astor is considerably larger than the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. So, the Astor will offer a stronger road presence than the S-Cross.
Both cars have an identical ground clearance measuring 180mm. The 448-litre boot space of the Astor is 73 litres larger than that of the S-Cross.
The MG Astor is available with 2 petrol engines - a 1.5L normal petrol and a 1.4L turbo petrol engine. The 1.5L normal petrol engine gets a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission while the 1.4L turbo petrol engine is available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.The 1.5L normal petrol engine of the Astor makes 110PS of power at 6000rpm and 144Nm of torque at 4400rpm. The 1.4L turbo petrol engine in the MG Astor pushes out 140PS of power at 5600rpm and 220Nm of torque at 3600rpm.
The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross is only available with a 1.5L mild hybrid petrol engine, which is offered with a 5-speed manual and 4-speed TC automatic transmission. The S-Cross’s 1.5L mild hybrid petrol engine makes 105PS of power at 6000rpm and 138Nm of torque at 4400rpm.
