Citroen made its debut in India with the locally-assembled C5 Aircross. The C5 Aircross was an effort to make an image in the eyes of the Indian audience. For the masses, Citroen is going to launch the heavily-localised C3 in 2022. The India-made C3 will be a hatchback with SUV elements that is different from the C3 sold in international markets. Some images of the upcoming C3 on test have surfaced online. The spied test car was a lower variant with black door handles and steel wheels.

Citroen unveiled the C3 this year and it impressed the masses with its SUV-inspired styling. Citroen isn’t calling the C3 an SUV but a hatchback with a twist. It boasts several SUV-inspired elements coupled with high ground clearance. On the design’s front, the C3 will offer split headlights with DRLs, styled wheels, body cladding, door protectors and more.
As far as interiors go, the C3 will offer a unique dashboard with several orange inserts. Other features will include a 10-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a flat-bottom steering wheel with media controls, digital instrument cluster, power windows and more. The powertrain options of the C3 are not revealed yet but we expect it to offer a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with both manual and automatic gearbox options.
