According to a leaked document, Kia are set to update the 2022 Seltos with retuned suspension and better standard safety features. However, it remains to be seen whether the 2022 Seltos will get any visual changes.

2022 Kia Seltos — Retuned Suspension

The 2022 Kia Seltos is likely to get a retuned suspension. The current Seltos gets a fairly stiff suspension setup, especially when compared to its sibling — the Hyundai Creta. Hence, it is safe to assume that the 2022 Seltos will offer a more comfortable ride over speed breakers and potholes.

2022 Kia Seltos — Better Standard Safety

The 2022 Seltos is also likely to offer better standard safety features. Features like front and side airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), brake assist, high-line traction control, rear disc brakes, and hill start assist will be offered as standard. It is worth noting that the curtain airbags will be offered only from HTX+ onwards whereas the Carens gets 6 airbags as standard across the range.

2022 Kia Seltos — Auto Clutch Manual Transmission (ACMT) With 1.5L Diesel

The 2022 Kia Seltos is likely to offer a 6-speed ACMT with the 1.5L turbo diesel engine. Currently, Kia only offer the ACMT option with the 1.5L normal petrol engine of the Seltos. The 1.5L diesel ACMT powertrain will be offered in a single HTK+ variant. The 1.5L ACMT will go on sale alongside the manual and torque converter options and fit between the two in terms of pricing.

2022 Kia Seltos — Visual Enhancements

While there are no details about the cosmetic changes, the leaked documents reveal a few visual changes for the 2022 Seltos. The 2022 Seltos will get a new Seltos logo and gain two new exterior shades — Silver and Blue. In addition to that, the IRVM will get a new design along with Kia Connect shortcut key and the latter will also get a new logo. The base HTE and HTK variants will get new designs for the 16-inch wheel covers.

Kia India are likely to unveil the 2022 Seltos soon. It will continue to go up against the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the Nissan Kicks. With the aforementioned changes, Kia India could hike the prices of the 2022 Seltos considerably. We expect Kia India to commence bookings for the 2022 Seltos in the coming weeks.
