BMW i7 Electric Sedan Launched In India At Rs. 1.95 Crore | V3Cars

BMW India have launched the i7 electric luxury sedan at a price of Rs. 1.95 crore ex-showroom. It comes with the xDrive60 powertrain option as a completely built unit (CBU).

On the outside, the i7 looks very similar to its ICE-powered counterpart — the 7-Series. At the front, it gets a large kidney grille flanked by split LED headlights. The lower part of the bumper gets black surrounds to reduce visual bulk. At the rear, the i7 gets slim LED tail lights and 'xDrive60' badging on the boot lid.

BMW i7 xDrive60 Interior And Features

The new i7 comes with the latest interior from BMW and offers the new iDrive system. It gets 2 connected screens that sit atop the dashboard in a curved glass casing. The highlight of the interior lies at the rear, which is a 31-inch theatre screen. It is mounted on the roof and can be retracted with just the press of a button. It supports Amazon Firestick with access to all major streaming platforms. Other features of the i7 include an electronic open/shut function for doors and touch control panels for the rear passengers.

BMW i7 xDrive60 Powertrain Details

The BMW i7 comes with a 101.7kWh battery pack that is placed between the front and rear axles. The battery pack channels power to 2 electric motors mounted at each axle. The combined power and torque outputs of the BMW i7 stand at 544PS and 745Nm. It can do the 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.7 seconds while its top speed is limited to 240kmph. The i7 offers a WLTP-certified range of 625km on a single charge.

BMW i7 xDrive60 Rivals And Deliveries

The BMW i7 xDrive60 goes up against the recently launched Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 and Audi e-tron GT. It is worth mentioning that while the i7 comes to our shores via the CBU route, Mercedes-Benz locally assemble the EQS 580 in India. BMW India will commence deliveries of the i7 xDrive60 in March 2023.
