In this April 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change for the 20 top-selling cars of April 2022. Based on the data, we’ll also share our observations and possible reasons for big improvement or massive decline where applicable.
April 2022 - 20 Top-Selling Cars YoY Change
- The top 10 bestselling cars in April 2022 are all above 10,000 units a month
- 10 models on the top 20 bestselling list in April 2022 are from Maruti Suzuki
- The Celerio has the best YoY improvement of 1825% as the older model was on its way out this time last year
- Other than the Celerio’s skewed YoY change percentage, Nexon, Innova and Ertiga posted the best YoY gains of 94%, 76.4% and 72.2%, respectively
- Among the top losers are Swift, Alto and Baleno registering a YoY decline of about 51.4%, 40% and 33.2%, respectively
- Hyundai and Kia have 3 cars in the April’s top 20 list while Tata have 2; Mahindra and Toyota have 1 model each
April 2022 - 20 Top-Selling Cars MoM Change
- In terms of MoM change, the Ertiga is the top gainer with almost 89% improvement
- The second best performer in MoM improvement comes from the Alto posting a 37% better figure in April compared to the March performance
- The list of MoM losers is much longer as most cars suffered a drop
- Dzire and Swift are the top losers in terms of MoM performance registering a decline of 42.5% and 35%, respectively
