In this August 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all C-segment SUVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all C-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

C-Segment SUV August 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

If we leave aside the low volume cars, none of the high volume C-segment SUV show any significant gains
The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos’ sales numbers remained unchanged for all practical purposes
Many among the high volume cars saw a decline in numbers, with the Skoda Kushaq topping the list at 35.4%, followed closely by the Hyundai Alcazar at 33.56%
The S-Cross Duster and T-Roc are all discontinued SUVs and do not warrant or are not eligible for a YoY comparison

C-Segment SUV August 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

The Hyundai Tucson, which received a generation change recenly, was the top gainer, with a 102% growth in sales compared to July 2022
Among the high-volume cars, the Taigun was the top loser, with a 27.6% MoM decline
The Kia Seltos maintains its second spot in August MoM comparison. The Creta, which topped the list, maintained its consistent 5-figure monthly factory dispatch figure
