• Cost: The annual pass costs Rs. 3,000.

Note: Mr. Gadkari has clarified that passing through 1 toll plaza will be counted as 1 trip. So, if you cross the same plaza twice (once going, once returning), that’s 2 trips.

• Who Can Use It? This pass is only available for non-commercial private vehicles like cars, SUVs and vans. Commercial vehicles are not eligible.

• Closed Tolling Systems (expressways): We are still awaiting clarity on how the annual pass works in a closed tolling system.

7. Is the FASTag Annual Pass mandatory? 

No, the Annual Pass is not mandatory. It is an optional facility. Users who do not wish to opt for the Annual Pass can continue to use their existing FASTag and pay per trip as usual. However, not having a FASTag means you’ll have to pay twice the regular fee at tolls on National Highways and Expressways.
