Amazon And Hyundai Tie Up To Sell Cars Online – US Rollout Soon | V3Cars

At the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai and retail giant Amazon announced their new partnership to sell Hyundai cars through the latter’s online platform and mobile application. Currently, Amazon customers in the US can choose and spec a car through Amazon’s online platform and connect with a dealership for making the purchase. However, starting 2024, Amazon customers can finish the entire purchase process on Amazon’s online platform. While this feature is limited to the US market for now, Amazon and Hyundai could soon expand this partnership to other markets as well.

Hyundai Amazon Tie Up

As part of the latest partnership, customers can choose to get their car delivered at their home or pick it up from a nearby dealership. Customers will also be able to choose a financing option and complete the entire transaction online. While Amazon could tie up with more manufacturers to offer more cars online, a Hyundai official was quoted saying that the actual dealership model for sales remains important. “This new shopping experience will create another way for dealers to build awareness of their selection and offer convenience to their customers,” said a joint statement from Amazon and Hyundai.

Some of you may recall that several car manufacturers, including those who operate in India, had to resort to online car sales during the Covid-19 pandemic. Several carmakers set up virtual showrooms to offer a virtual buying experience for customers. Brands such as Toyota and Volkswagen gave prospective customers the option to select a vehicle, take a 360-degree external and internal tour, check out all available variant and colour options, switch on the lights and open and close the doors virtually and finalise the purchase from the safety of their homes. The latest tie up between Hyundai and Amazon takes it a step further with the option to get your car delivered at home.
