Kia Seltos Specifications Leaked; Comparison With Hyundai Creta & MG Hector
Kia Seltos is set to launch in India on 22 August 2019. It will be Kia’s first car in India and will compete in the compact SUV segment against the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. While Kia has already revealed that the Seltos will be available with two petrol engine options (1.5-litre and 1.4-litre turbocharged) and one diesel (1.5-litre), the carmaker did not reveal its specifications. Now, a leaked document reveals its power output and dimensions. Here’s how it fares against its rivals on paper.

Seltos’ 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine will make it the most powerful car in its segment. The engine’s power output is comparable to the Hector’s. Since the Seltos is smaller than the Hector and possibly lighter too, it will offer a better power to weight ratio. Seltos 1.5-litre petrol engine will be less powerful than Creta’s 1.6-litre unit.

The Seltos will not be available with multiple diesel engine options, like the Creta. Its 1.5-litre diesel engine will make less power than Creta’s 1.6-litre unit. Hector’s 2.0-litre diesel engine is in a different league altogether when it comes to power output.
The Seltos will be available with BS6 engines from the launch. We expect it to be priced in the Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh bracket.
