With the festive season around the corner, various carmakers are introducing special edition variants of their popular models. Maruti has also jumped the bandwagon and has launched the special edition model of the Swift.
The Special Edition is basically an accessory pack that is being offered on all variants of the Swift at an additional price of Rs 24,990. It includes accessories like gloss black body kit, rear spoiler, side moulding, door visor and black garnish on the front grille tail lamps and fog lamps. On the inside, it gets sporty seat covers.
Under the hood, the Swift gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine. It makes 83PS and 113Nm mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT. The Swift has a claimed fuel economy of 21.21kmpl. Maruti does not offer a diesel engine on the BS6 Swift.
In terms of features, the Swift gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard. Other features on offer include auto AC, auto LED headlamps with LED DRLs, push-button start, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, alloy wheels, 60:40 split rear seats, height-adjustable driver’s seat and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Prices of the Swift range from Rs 5.19 lakh to Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). With the inclusion of the special edition pack, the prices will range from Rs 5.54 lakh to Rs 8.27 lakh. The Swift rivals likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Ford Figo.
