Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Facelift Spotted With Mild Design Tweaks | V3Cars

The latest spy shot of the WagonR facelift reveals the updated rear end of the hatchback. The most visible change is the updated rear bumper which now features a black panel in the middle that breaks the visual mass of the chunky rear bumper. The reflectors have moved to the edge of the bumper and get a vertical orientation. While the design of the tailgate remains untouched, the tail lamps get a blacked-out treatment. We believe the final production version could feature the same blacked-out tail lamp seen here or get a clear lens effect like in the erstwhile WagonR Stingray.

The latest spy shots do not give us a glimpse of WagonR facelift’s revised front end. However, our exclusive spy shots from earlier this year captured the front and side profile of the upcoming WagonR facelift. Those spy shots revealed a thoroughly revamped front end featuring turn indicators on either edge of the bonnet and a slim black grille. The earlier test mule also featured headlamps mounted lower down in the front bumper, like in the Tata Punch. The lower half of the front bumper featured a black strip that also housed the fog lamps.

The earlier spy shot of the WagonR revealed a blue surround on the Suzuki logo, suggesting that it could be hiding a new electric powertrain under the metal. If it is indeed a new electric powertrain, Maruti Suzuki could utilise it to launch small electric hatchbacks based on their existing portfolio such as the Celerio. However, these electric hatchbacks are not likely to be launched anytime soon. Maruti have already stated that the eVX SUV would be their first electric offering for the Indian market and Maruti have confirmed a 2024-25 launch for the electric SUV.
