    Mercedes-Benz unveils new CLA Shooting Brake at 2019 Geneva Motor Show

    German luxury auto major has Mercedes-Benz has revealed the all new CLA Shooting Brake at the ongoing 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The second generation Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake comes with new head turning looks and larger proportions than its predecessor, and its wowing the onlookers in Geneva.

    While the Mercedes-Benz CLA Class is essentially the 4-door coupe-sedan based on the entry-level A-Class hatchback, the CLA Shooting Brake is the company’s take on a more practical version of the CLA for the car buyers of Europe, which is designed to stand out from the rest.

    The new second generation Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake heightens its attention grabbing factor with its new design language. It flaunts a hot curvaceous exterior design that infuses futuristic styling elements. Mercedes-benz has endowed the new-gen model with more sleek and smooth flowing design by doing away with a lot of cuts and creases of the previous model to make way for more curves. The rear end is especially more curvy where the roof slopes down to meet the boot. The all new CLA Shooting Brake looks sportier and more attractive than its coupe counterpart. The front fascias of both the cars are identical, while the rest of the exterior design is very dissimilar.

    The new generation Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake has also grown in size. It is now 48 mm longer, 53 mm wider than its predecessor, while being and just 2 mm lower than the previous model. The new car also gets longer wheelbase, which is 30 mm longer, which natural enhances the cabin space. Also despite being a tad lower, the new CLA Shooting Brake offers better headroom by 8mm for the rear occupants, thanks to the new roofline design.

    The interior all new CLA Shooting Brake have been also improved and is more contemporary. There is of course the new MBUX dual-screen setup on the dash. While the instrumentation and important information get displayed on one of these two screens, the other is dedicated to the infotainment system. The new Shooting Brake also boasts of a new steering wheel that comes along with various improved controls for various features. The MBUX user interface also offers a whole of high-end controls and connectivity features which includes a very smart AI interior assist system that gets activated through voice commands and gestures. The car also gets gesture controlled ambient lighting among an array of other luxurious features.

    Under the hood, the all new Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake comes packed with a new 2.0 litre engine that generates 225 bhp of max power and 350 Nm of peak torque and gets paired with a 7 speed dual-clutch transmission. The car will get more powertrain options along with an AMG version.

    The CLA Shooting Brake is one of the most distinctive cars in the international market. Its unique visual appeal makes it rather a niche model that is aimed at those customers who look for design excellence over everything else in a car. The Shooting Brake doesn’t attract huge sales numbers and it is not even aimed to be a volume raker. The Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake is essentially a showcase of the Stuttgart based company’s styling prowess and is meant to charm the Mercedes aficionados who wish to flaunt a Merc model that stands out in the crowd. With its stunning design and sporty-cool visual appeal, the new generation CLA Shooting Brake will definitely please its target audience.
