MG Astor Black Storm Launched — Prices Start At Rs. 14.48 Lakh | V3Cars

MG Motor India have launched the Astor Black Storm edition and its prices start from Rs. 14.48 lakh (ex-showroom). Here, we take a look at the upgrades the Aston Black Storm offers over the standard variants of MG’s C-segment SUV.

A couple of days ago, we reported that MG Motor India will launch the Astor Black Storm on September 6. The carmaker has now launched the Astor Black Storm and it rivals the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition. The Astor Black Storm comes with a 1.5L normal petrol engine only and it’s priced at Rs. 14.48 lakh for the manual transmission and Rs. 15.77 lakh for the continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Speaking of upgrades, the Astor Black Storm offers a few cosmetic changes over the regular Astor, both inside and out. The Astor Black Storm gets a blacked out front grille and black treatment for the alloy wheels, roof rails, side door cladding and Astor emblem. Furthermore, it offers red brake callipers and ‘Black Storm’ badging on the front fenders.

On the inside, the Astor Black Storm offers an all-black dashboard. The AC vent surrounds are finished in red and the stitching on the dashboard and door cards are also finished in red. Furthermore, it offers dark grey seats with red stitching. In terms of features, the Astor Black Storm offers a full-colour LCD instrument cluster, heated outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), 4 JBL speakers, panoramic sunroof and Bluetooth-enabled digital key. Since the Black Storm edition is based on the Astor Smart variant, it doesn’t offer the Level-2 ADAS features the Astor Savvy is popular for.

As mentioned earlier, MG offer the Astor Black Storm with the 1.5L normal petrol engine only. This engine produces 110PS of power at 6000rpm and 144Nm of torque at 4400rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The standard variants of the Astor also offer the option of a 1.3L turbo petrol engine that puts out 140PS of power at 5600rpm and 220Nm at 3600rpm. This engine comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission only.
