Tata Avinya Electric Concept Revealed – Launch In 2025 | V3Cars

Tata Motors have revealed the Avinya all-electric concept SUV. Set to be launched in 2025, the Tata Avinya electric SUV will be based on the carmaker’s Gen 3 pure electric vehicle architecture. The Tata Avinya is the second concept car Tata Motors have revealed within a month; the first being the Tata Curvv. The Tata Avinya is based on the carmaker’s Gen 3 pure electric vehicle architecture. The Tata Curvv, on the other hand, is based on the Gen 2 architecture which supports both electric and ICE powertrain options.

Speaking of the Avinya electric SUV, Tata Motors say the name has been derived from the Sanskrit word that means innovation. The carmaker added that the Avinya has been designed to offer the looks of a crossover and the space of an MPV within the footprint of a hatchback. The new dedicated EV platform has opened up new design possibilities for the carmaker and that is visible in the Avinya’s design.

The Avinya boasts supremely short front and rear overhangs to open up space for passengers on the inside. In concept form, the Avinya features electrically operated suicide doors. The Avinya features two LED strips that run along the width of the car. However, they split at the middle, creating the impression of the letter ‘T’. While this feature could be mistaken for the new Tata logo, the company’s spokesperson confirmed that it is a design element of the Avinya and not the new Tata logo.

At the event, Tata Motors stated that they aim to use more densely-packed battery cells for the Avinya. Speaking of range, Tata Motors say the Avinya could offer a range of more than 500km per charge. The recently unveiled Tata Curvv Concept, on the other hand, is claimed to deliver a range of 400-500km per charge. While the Avinya is slated to go on sale in 2025, the production-spec Curvv will arrive at Tata dealerships within the next 24 months.
