Tata Concept Curvv Unveiled – To Launch Within Two Years | V3Cars
Tata Motors have taken the wraps off a Coupe SUV concept called the ‘Concept Curvv’. It features Tata’s Gen-2 EV architecture which promises better range and charging capabilities. Tata Motors also revealed that the Concept Curvv will be offered as an EV first, before offering a choice of internal combustion engines.

Tata Concept Curvv Design
The Tata Concept Curvv sports a sleek design with a coupe roofline. Tata Motors’ head of global design, Mr. Martin Uhlarik, said that Concept Curvv’s body panels and wheels are designed to optimise aerodynamics.
In addition to that, a few design elements, like the full-width LED DRL upfront, will boil down to other future offerings from Tata Motors as well.
The Concept Curvv will slot between the Nexon and Harrier SUVs. The concept SUV’s interiors reveal Tata’s new signature steering wheel with a glowing Tata logo, touch-based climate controls and twin large screens for the user interface.

Tata said the Gen-2 architecture of the Concept Curvv is not only capable of featuring both electric and internal combustion powertrains, but its modularity also allows for the possibility of multiple body styles and drivetrain options. Hence, if there is enough demand, we can expect the Concept Curvv to feature a 4-wheel-drive in the future.
Tata Concept Curvv Launch Timeline
Tata Motors haven’t announced any launch timeline for the Concept Curvv yet, but the carmaker aims to launch the SUV within two years.
Hence, we can expect the Concept Curvv to hit production in 2024, followed by the launch of several variants with internal combustion engines.
Tata Motors also revealed that they aim to launch 10 electric vehicles within 5 years. In fact, Tata are well on track to achieve the target. These 10 electric models will include the current gen-1 models, gen-2 models boasting both electric and ICE drivetrains and the all-electric gen-3 models.

Tata Concept Curvv Battery, Internal-Combustion Engine And Charging
Tata Motors didn’t reveal any concrete details regarding the Concept Curvv’s batteries and charging. However, we can confirm that the Concept Cuvv will boast a bigger and denser battery pack compared to Tata’s existing EVs.
With constant improvements in battery technology and powertrains, Tata claims the Concept Curvv will offer a claimed range of up to 500km on a single charge.
The Concept Curvv will also feature vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-2-load V2L charging. An EV that is V2V compliant can charge other electric vehicles using a cable. Similarly, an EV that is V2L compliant is capable of charging other appliances via a 3-pin plug. Examples of EVs that are V2L compliant include the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
Tata Motors are yet to reveal the engine options for the Concept Curvv’s internal combustion engine version. However, a spokesperson for the company confirmed that the brand isn’t looking at any hybrid powertrains. Hence, the Concept Curvv is likely to boast either a petrol or a diesel engine, apart from the fully electric powertrain.
