Tata Motors Trademark 4 Names – Styzor, Bovita, Auroar, Xiomara | V3Cars

Tata Motors have set the goal of launching 10 EVs by 2030. They are working at a fast pace to achieve the goal. Recently, they showcased 2 future EV concepts — the Curvv and Avinya — within a span of a few days. Now, they have filed trademarks for 4 new names — the Styzor, Bovita, Auroar and Xiomara.

These names could be used for future EVs from Tata Motors. We already know Tata Motors’ EV plans thanks to the 2 concepts they showed. Cars like the Nexon EV and Tigor EV are Tata’s gen-1 EVs. These are originally ICE vehicles which were fitted with electric batteries and motors and transformed into EVs.

The Curvv was a preview of Tata’s gen-2 EVs. These vehicles will be compatible with electric batteries and motors as well as internal combustion engines. Hence, we will see these cars in both EV and ICE forms. Tata claim their gen-2 EVs will be capable of travelling up to 400km on a single charge. The Curvv is expected to go on sale in 2024 as an EV first and ICE car later.

The recently showcased Avinya was a preview of Tata’s gen-3 EVs. These vehicles will be offered solely as EVs in the market. Tata Motors say that the production version of Avinya could achieve a real-world range of 500km. The Avinya will go on sale in 2025.

Now that we have a recap of Tata’s EV plans, let us answer the question of what these new names will be used for. We reckon that Tata Motors will call their upcoming gen-2 and gen-3 EVs by these names. As the gen-1 EVs are based on ICE cars that are already on sale, we don’t think that they will need new names. An ‘EV’ suffix should suffice the need for differentiation between petrol/diesel and EVs.

Apart from the Curvv and the Avinya, these 4 vehicles will likely be one of Tata’s 10 EVs. When the name Curvv was registered, Tata Motors also trademarked the name Sliq. However, we have not heard anything about it yet. Tata might use this name for one of the EVs. Meanwhile, Tata will launch the long-range Nexon EV, called the Nexon EV Max, tomorrow.
