The Mobility Expo 2025 served as a thrilling preview of the automotive landscape in India, showcasing a glimpse into the exciting cars slated for release in 2025. From cutting-edge electric vehicles and futuristic concepts to refreshed versions of current models, the expo floor buzzed with anticipation. This article dives into the most anticipated cars that were unveiled or showcased at the Auto Expo, giving you a comprehensive look at what you can expect to see on Indian roads in the current year.

1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki showcased their first-ever EV – the e Vitara – at the Mobility Expo 2025. We expect the made-in-India e Vitara to launch in Europe and Japan before its introduction in our domestic market later this year.
The India-spec e Vitara will be offered with 2 battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh – powering an electric motor mounted on the front axle. When launched, the new e Vitara will not only rival the Tata Curvv EV and the MG ZS EV but also take on the Mahindra BE 6 and the Hyundai Creta EV.

2. BYD Sealion 7
BYD started accepting bookings for their latest EV – the Sealion 7 – at the Mobility Expo 2025. The BYD Sealion 7 electric SUV adopts BYD’s OceanX design language, incorporating X-shaped motifs seen on the Seal sedan. The coupe-SUV shares design elements with the Seal, including similar headlights and connected taillights, but features more aggressively styled front and rear bumpers.
BYD are offering the 2025 Sealion 7 in 2 variants – Premium and Performance. Both variants get an 82.5kWh battery pack as standard. They offer a claimed range of 567km and 542km, respectively.

While the MG Cyberster is available in 2 variants – GT and Trophy Extended Range – with 2 powertrain options, MG are only offering the top-spec GT variant in India. The India-spec GT variant of the Cyberster gets dual electric motors and produces a combined power output of 510PS of power and 725Nm of torque. It can hit 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds and the top speed is rated at 208kmph. The MG Cyberster GT variant offers a WLTP-claimed range of 443km.

Featuring a front-motor, front-wheel-drive configuration powered by a 90kWh lithium battery, the MG M9 delivers 245PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The claimed WLTP range is 430km. Tata Motors showcased the upcoming Harrier EV in a production-ready form at the Auto Expo 2025. The Harrier EV maintains the robust design language of its diesel counterpart while incorporating distinct electric vehicle cues. Its interior too retains the spaciousness of the Harrier diesel version but introduces subtle enhancements to reflect its electric nature. Top features include 7 airbags dual 12.3-inch displays, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, ADAS and a panoramic sunroof

7. Tata Sierra
Tata Motors showcased the Sierra with an all-new 1.5L turbo petrol engine at the 2025 Mobility Expo. We are fairly certain that the car will go on sale in 2025 and will also get a diesel engine. It’s currently not clear if it will get the same 1.5L diesel engine or the Fiat-sourced 2.0L diesel engine. The 2.0L diesel will help it better compete against the Thar Roxx but the 1.5L engine will help them minimise their dependence on other brands. This move will also help them cut costs and emissions. Being a roughly 4.3m car, a 1.5L diesel engine is fairly appropriate for a car like the Sierra.
At this Mobility Expo, Tata didn’t showcase the Sierra EV but we expect them to launch this too sometime in 2025 around the time the Sierra petrol/diesel goes on sale.

8. Skoda Superb
Skoda showcased the 2025 Superb at the Auto Expo ahead of its launch in India in 2025. Surprisingly, the Superb showcased at the Mobility Expo features a diesel engine, which Skoda India discontinued in March 2021. At the event, Skoda officials told V3Cars that the new Superb will go on sale with a petrol engine but also stated that the 2L diesel engine could return if there’s enough demand for it.
We expect Skoda India to launch the new Superb sedan after the launch of the new Kodiaq SUV. So expect a launch sometime in the second half of 2025. The 2025 Superb could cost less than the current model, which is currently being sold via the CBU route. So expect a price tag of Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom) instead of the Rs. 54 lakh Skoda are charging for the current Superb.
