What Are The Engine Specifications of 2021 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza?

The Brezza comes with a 1.5-litre normal petrol engine, which is capable of delivering 105PS of maximum power and 138Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission option. In case of the automatic, it also comes with a mild-hybrid tech, owing to which the Brezza automatic offers better fuel efficiency as compared to the manual version.

In this segment, only the EcoSport and Magnite come packed with a 3-cylinder normal petrol engine, while the rest of the cars are equipped with 4-cylinder ones. The EcoSport offers better performance than the Brezza. However, the Brezza has the best in segment torque:weight ratio.

Among all the normal petrol engine powered cars, the Brezza manual’s fuel efficiency is only better than the EcoSport and WR-V. However, in the case of the automatic transmission, the Brezza is the segment’s most fuel efficient car.

The following table offers you a look at all the specification details of the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza normal petrol engine and comparison with its rivals:

According to us, the Brezza LXI variant lacks some basic features such as steering mounted audio controls, height adjustable driver seat, adjustable rear headrests and wheel covers.

Whether or not the budget buyers should get the LXI variant or choose the next VXI variant - we’ll discuss this after looking into the features of the latter.

What Are The Features of 2021 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza VXI Variant?

The Brezza VXI variant is Rs 1.6 lakh more expensive than the LXI variant.

The VXI variant is also available with the automatic transmission option along with the mild hybrid technology, which is Rs 1.30 lakh costlier than the manual counterpart.

The VXI adds in a couple of safety features, such as LED projector headlamps and rear defogger.

In terms of functional features, this variant adds features like steering-mounted audio controls, auto AC, electrically foldable ORVMs, keyless entry with push-button start/stop and adjustable rear headrests.

Features like LED DRLs with integrated turn indicators and wheel covers enhance the style factor in this variant.

As per our internal data, for its additional features the VXI variant’s incremental cost of Rs 1.06 lakh is quite expensive.

Hence, for the budget buyers who are looking to buy only a lower variant of the Brezza, we won’t recommend the LXI variant.

The VXI variant with the automatic transmission with mild hybrid tech has an incremental cost of Rs 1.30 lakh.

Along with the Automatic transmission, you also get hill start assist as a standard feature.

The additional cost of the automatic transmission is slightly on the higher side. However, if you are looking to buy the Brezza automatic only in a lower variant, then you can settle for the VXI variant.

What Are The Features of 2021 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza ZXI Variant?

The Brezza ZXI variant is Rs 75,000 costlier than the VXI variant, in case of both manual and automatic transmission options.

Other noteworthy additional features of this variant include cruise control, height adjustable driver seat, 60:40 split rear seat with armrest, 16-inch alloy wheels and rear wiper.

According to our internal data, the ZXI variant’s added features easily justify the incremental cost of Rs 75,000. In case of the automatic transmission, the ZXI variant would attract more tax in many states, as its price exceeds the Rs 10 lakh range. However, we feel that it is still worth going for this variant, considering It offers many useful good-to-have features that would improve your ownership experience.

In case of the manual transmission, the price jump from the base LXI to the ZXI variant is of Rs 1.81 lakh. Although the ZXI variant is not as value-for-money as the LXI variant, it certainly offers better value than the VXI variant. It also offers several modern-day good-to-have features as well.

Hence in case of the manual transmission, choosing the ZXI variant over the LXI would be a sensible decision.

However, if you are looking to have a whole host of modern feel-good features, then whether you should consider buying the ZXI variant or the top ZXI+ variant -- we would get the answer after looking into the next variant.

What Are The Features of 2021 Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXI+ Variant?

The top of the line Brezza ZXI+ variant with manual transmission is Rs 53,000 more expensive than the ZXI variant, while with automatic transmission it is Rs 63,000.

According to our internal data, for the additional features of the ZXI+ variant, spending an additional premium of around Rs 50,000 would be sensible. Hence in case of the manual transmission, we recommend the ZXI+ variant over the ZXI, especially for features like rear parking camera, auto-dimming IRVM, front armrest and auto folding ORVMs. In case of the automatic transmission, you’ll be paying more for these features.

Owing to the features such as rear parking camera, auto-dimming IRVM, front armrest and auto folding ORVMs, we feel that choosing the ZXI+ variant would be better.
