2025 Kia Carens Clavis Variant-Wise Expected Price

The Carens Clavis will get 6 powertrain options. Among these, the normal petrol-manual will come in the lower 3 variants with an expected price range of Rs. 12.0 lakh to Rs. 13.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The turbo petrol-manual will come in all but the base model of the Clavis with an expected price range of Rs. 14.0 lakh to Rs. 18.0 lakh. The turbo petrol will also get the option of auto-clutch manual transmission in the top two variants. These could carry an additional price of Rs. 50,000 over the comparable turbo petrol-manual trims.

The turbo petrol-automatic will be available in HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O) and HTX Plus variants with expected ex-showroom prices of Rs. 16.50 lakh, Rs. 17.50 lakh and Rs. 20.0 lakh, respectively. The Clavis diesel-manual will come in all but the top model and we expect it to cost between Rs. 14.0 lakh and Rs. 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Finally, the diesel-automatic will only come in the HTK Plus and HTK Plus (O) with an expected ex-showroom price of Rs. 17.0 lakh and Rs. 18.0 lakh, respectively.

The Carens Clavis base model seems quite well loaded with most of the must-have features. You may still miss the following features:

  • Power mirrors
  • Music system
  • Steering-mounted controls
  • Auto AC
  • Option of captain seats

We wish it at least had power mirrors as standard equipment.

Considering the expected price of Rs. 12.0 lakh, we think this variant is worth a serious consideration for anyone interested in an affordable 3-row MPV like Ertiga, XL6 or the old Carens.

Considering the expected ex-showroom price, this variant misses out on the following features:

  • Auto AC
  • Rear defogger
  • Telescopic steering
  • Option of captain seats

Considering the fact that this variant adds mostly must-have features, we don’t expect it to carry a reasonable price premium. Since it is likely to offer horrible value for money, we will suggest you skip this variant unless you are interested in the turbo petrol engine and don’t want to stretch any further.

New Kia Carens Clavis Petrol HTE (O) vs HTK Variant — Feature Comparison

You may miss the following features in the HTK variant:

  • Cruise control
  • Rear defogger
  • Telescopic steering
  • Keyless entry with push-button start/stop
  • LED projector headlamps
  • Option of captain seats

The HTK variant adds only a few must-have features. Most car makers do this kind of feature distribution. They price the base model well but reserve some must-have features for the next few variants, which carry a fat premium. So, we don’t expect this variant to offer any decent value for money and it’s not recommended without a look at the price list.

New Kia Carens Clavis Petrol HTK vs HTK Plus Variant — Feature Comparison

The HTK Plus variant onwards, you lose the option of 1.5L normal petrol engine but gain the turbo petrol-automatic.

  • LED projector headlamps
  • 360 degree camera
  • Auto wipers
  • Sunroof
  • Option of captain seats

HTK Plus variant adds a few more must-have features for a car of this segment. However, we don’t expect it to make up for the value gaps created by the lower trims. So, it’s not recommended either.

2025 Kia Carens Clavis Petrol HTK Plus vs HTK Plus (O) Variant — Feature Comparison

Even in this variant, you may miss features like:

  • Telescopic steering
  • LED projector headlamps
  • 360-degree camera
  • Auto wipers

The HTK Plus (O) variant adds a few features, which carry high perceived value, such as a sunroof and larger alloy wheels. This is where the value is likely to start creeping back in but most of these features are good-to-have at best. So, we suggest skipping this one too.

2025 Kia Carens Clavis Petrol HTK Plus (O) vs HTX Variant — Feature Comparison

The top variant HTX of the Carens Clavis doesn’t get the turbo petrol-automatic but gets 2 kinds of manual transmission with the 1.5L turbo petrol engine. One is the usual manual transmission with 3 pedals. The other gets a 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission.

In the HTX variant, you may miss the following features:

  • Ventilated front and rear seats
  • Auto wipers

The HTX variant is what seems quite well loaded and if Kia price it according to our expectations, then this one could come across as the one offering a nice balance of must-have features, good-to-have features and value for money. This is the one we would suggest you book.

2025 Kia Carens Clavis Petrol HTX Plus vs HTX Plus (O) Variant - Feature Comparison

In the Clavis top model, you may miss the following features:

  • Ventilated rear seats
  • Electric seat height adjustment
  • ADAS with auto-clutch & manual transmission
  • Power tail gate

The Clavis top model is likely to offer good value for money because of high perceived value from ADAS features. However, if you’re not into them, then you can book the lower HTX trim. But if you value these features, then this might be worth booking.

Which Variant Of The Kia Clavis Petrol Should You Book?

Please note that the Clavis booking recommendations are based on our price expectation and variant feature distribution. Our recommendation prioritises variants that offer the best value for money along with the majority of the must-have features to offer the best ownership experience.

For budget-conscious buyers, the base model is perfectly good and quite well loaded as well with most of the must-have features. With the turbo petrol manual and auto-clutch variants, the HTX is our top recommendation as it’s most likely to offer the best balance of must-have features, good-to-have features and value for money.

It’s best to buy the HTX Plus variant with the automatic transmission for a full ADAS experience.

What Are The Engine Specifications Of The Kia Clavis Petrol?

Among its rivals, the Clavis offers 2 very usable engines. The Carens, Alcazar and XL6 have only one while the Aircross is not a great hauler with the underpowered 1.2L normal petrol engine. Its 1.2L turbo petrol engine has enough torque to haul a full load without much effort.

In terms of efficiency, the XL6 sits at the top while the Clavis sits pretty much at the bottom. Among non-hybrid petrol engines, the Carens has the lowest mileage of 15.34kmpl while the XL6 has the highest efficiency of 20.97kmpl.

Among turbo petrol engines too, the Clavis manual and automatic promise a mileage of 15.95kmpl and 16.66kmpl, respectively. None of its rivals with a turbo petrol engine has a lower mileage figure.

One thing that goes in favour of the Clavis is its powertrain options. It has 4 engine-transmission combinations just for petrol buyers. For Clavis diesel buyers, there are 2 more.

What Are The Dimensions Of The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis?

In terms of dimensions, the Carens & Clavis have the longest wheelbase. It also has the biggest boot space, with 3-rows upright as well as in 2-row mode, the Carens and the Clavis sit at the top with 216 litres nad 645 litres of cargo volume, respectively.

As for the ground clearance, Kia haven’t confirmed this information for the Carens or the Clavis. We expect them to offer at least 180mm of unladen clearance. Since the Clavis is a 7-seater and with all that load, it would still need enough clearance to go over tall Indian speedbreakers.
