In this video, Team V3Cars tests the real-world fuel efficiency of the updated Volkswagen Taigun 1.0 TSI automatic, which now comes with a new 8-speed automatic transmission replacing the earlier 6-speed torque converter.
Using our tank-to-tank fuel efficiency testing methodology, we evaluate the Taigun’s city and highway mileage in real-world driving conditions and compare the results with its claimed figures. We also analyse whether the new 8-speed automatic has made a meaningful difference to fuel efficiency, drivability and overall ownership experience.
During the test, we share our impressions of the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, transmission behaviour, city comfort, highway performance, ride quality, steering feel, features and practicality. We also discuss how the gearbox keeps the engine more relaxed throughout the drive and whether it improves efficiency compared to the older 6-speed automatic version.
The video includes detailed city and highway fuel efficiency results, estimated driving range, real-world mileage expectations and a comparison with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta CVT and Volkswagen Virtus automatic variants. We also rank the Taigun among all V3Cars-tested vehicles to see where it stands in terms of real-world fuel efficiency.
If you are considering buying the Volkswagen Taigun 1.0 TSI automatic and want to know its actual mileage, driving characteristics and how much the new 8-speed automatic improves the ownership experience, this video will help you make a more informed decision.
