Update: Hyundai confirmed the engine options of the 2023 Exter on May 8, 2023. This post includes the updated powertrain details based on the currently available information.
In this Exter vs Brezza (expected) engine spec comparison, we’ll try to find out which car excels in what aspects of the engine specs. The Hyundai Exter primarily competes with affordable SUVs like the Maruti Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Punch and Citroen C3. But, because of the potentially overlapping price band, we think it could sway buyers away from the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Here, we hope this Maruti Brezza vs Exter engine spec comparison helps you with deciding if you should wait for the upcoming Exter or go ahead with booking the Brezza.

Besides the normal petrol-manual and automatic powertrains, Hyundai also confirmed that the Exter will get the CNG bi-fuel option with a manual transmission. While the specs aren’t out yet, we expect its performance figures to align with those of the Nios CNG. So, it could make 69PS of power and 95Nm of torque while claiming to deliver mileage of around 26kmpkg when running on CNG.
Meanwhile, the Brezza CNG gets a 1.5L engine, which makes 101PS of power and 122Nm of torque when running on CNG. It also gets a 5-speed manual transmission and has an ARAI mileage figure of 25.51kmpkg.
