    2017 Updated Ford Ecosport India launch details revealed

Now, Ford India has disclosed details regarding the facelifted EcoSport’s launch in the country.

    The new updated 2017 Ford EcoSport is slated to launch in the car market of India on 9th of November, 2017. The refreshed sub-4 meter compact SUV model comes with a comprehensive refresh which involves a plethora of cosmetic changes, feature updates and additions and a new petrol engine.

    The new Ford EcoSport SUV facelift comes with a fully revamped front fascia. The stylized new face of the mini SUV comprises of a new wider and bolder looking radiator grille that is in line with the new models from the house of Ford, stylish new projector headlights along with LED daytime running lights, new larger fog lamps and a bolder restyled front bumper. The side and rear profiles are largely retained, but there are newly designed 17 inch alloy wheels. The top of the range Titanium S trim flaunts sporty darkened styling elements in the form of blacked-out grille, headlight bezels, fog lamp bezels and alloy wheels. New body colour shade options of blue and red will also be on offer.

    On the inside, the refreshed EcoSport facelift is going to come with a large 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system for the higher model trims, while a smaller 6.5 inch unit will come mounted on the redesigned centre console on the lower trims. The infotainment system boasts of Ford’s new SYNC3 interface along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other feature updates in the cabin include new seat upholstery, new three-spoke steering wheel with mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, dual USB ports, etc.

    Safety equipments include two front airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across all variants. The petrol automatic trim gets paddle shifters, ESC, hill start assist and traction control, while the range topping models additional airbags, Isofix child seat mounts and more.

    Under the hood, Ford has introduced the new 1.5L 3-cylinder petrol mill from the new Dragon petrol engine series in the refreshed EcoSport. The new petrol mill offers 123 hp of power and will be paired to a 5-speed manual and a 6 speed automatic transmission option. The older 100 hp, 1.5L litre diesel engine will be carried forward, mated to the 5 speed manual transmission. The 1.0L Ecoboost turbo-petrol engine is thought to be discontinued.

     

    Ford has revealed that the EcoSport facelift’s localization level has been increased 80% from the previous 65%. The company also claims to offer best-in-class ownership experience with the updated new EcoSport with spare parts up to 40 percent cheaper that its rival models.

    With all the great updates the 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift is ready to fight it out better with its strong market rivals in India, which includes the newly launched impressive Tata Nexon and the highly successful and segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
