In terms of dimensions, the new 2019 Kwid has grown longer. It’s because of the additional cladding and redesigned bumpers, which now also accommodate the main headlamps. The height is lower now for some reason. The ground clearance is 4mm more and the boot space is 21 litres less than before. The bigger tyres and wheels contribute towards increasing the ground clearance while the requirement of larger wheel marginally wells eat into the boot space.

The fuel tank capacity, wheelbase and width remain unchanged.

2019 Renault Kwid Old Vs New - Engine Specs Comparison

On the powertrain side, it’s business as usual. The 799cc and 999cc 3-cylinder engines are carried over without any change. The power figures, as well as the transmission options, are still the same. There’s a 5-speed manual with both the engines while the bigger engine also gets a 5-speed automatic.

2019 Renault Kwid - Old Vs New - Extra Base Variant Features

Compared to the older Kwid, the new 2019 Renault Kwid gets the following features as standard starting from the base variant:

    • LED DRLs
    • Double-barrel headlamps
    • Body-coloured bumpers
    • Passenger-side outside mirror
    • Driver airbag
    • ABS
    • Rear parking sensors
    • 165-section tyres (old Kwid had 155-section tyres)
    • Bigger 14-inch wheels (old Kwid had 13-inch wheels)
    • Redesigned steering wheel
