2021 Kia Seltos Launched; Gets Dearer By Rs 20,000 | V3Cars
Along with the 2021 Sonet, Kia has launched the 2021 Seltos in India. It is priced from Rs 9.95 lakh to Rs 17.65 lakh (ex-showroom India). It attracts a premium of up to Rs 20,000 over the 2020 model. With the update, Kia has not only added new features, but it has also updated the variant lineup of the compact SUV. Kia has also introduced the new brand logo on the 2021 Seltos.

Let’s start with the variants. Kia has discontinued the Anniversary Edition which was based on the HTX variant. It has also pulled the plug on the diesel-only HTX+ automatic variant and the HTX+ is now available with a manual transmission only. Kia has also discontinued the petrol-only GTX variant but it has been replaced by a new GTX(O) variant. Like the GTX, the GTX(O) is also available with the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine only mated to a 6-speed MT.
While the engine options on the 2021 Seltos have remained unchanged, Kia has introduced a new 6-speed iMT gearbox on the Seltos. It is offered with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (115PS/145Nm) only in the HTK+ variant. This 1.5-litre petrol engine is available with a 6-speed MT and a CVT as well, depending on the variant. Other engine options on offer include a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine (140PS/242Nm) mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DCT and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (115PS/250Nm) mated to a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT.
Coming to the features, while the feature list of the base-spec HTE variant has not been touched, other variants see minor feature additions. So, let’s take a look.
- HTK Variant: It gets wireless phone projection (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto)
- HTK+ Variant: While the manual variants get remote engine start/stop, the newly introduced petrol-iMT variant gets Beige-Black interior upholstery, electric sunroof and auto AC.
