In this January 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B1-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B1-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.
B1-Segment Hatchback January 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- The Maruti Ignis was the top YoY gainer in January 2023, with a growth of 193%
- The Tiago was the second gainer after Ignis with 74% rise in dispatches over January 2022
- The Swift was the only YoY losers with a 14% sales decline in January 2023

- The Maruti WagonR was the top gainer in the category in terms of MoM comparison, with a 101% increase over December
- The Tiago and Swift followed in second and third place, with a gain of 49% and 36%, respectively
- There were no losers in the category in MoM comparison
