Hyundai have released 2 teaser sketches of the upcoming Bayon SUV, giving us the first official hints of its front-end design and interior. We also spotted the 2026 Bayon testing under heavy camouflage ahead of its October 2026 launch.

The Hyundai Bayon is set to become a new addition to Hyundai India’s SUV lineup and is expected to slot between the Venue and Creta. Following the official name reveal earlier this week, Hyundai have now released 2 teaser sketches that offer a closer look at the SUV’s exterior and interior design.
The first sketch previews the front end, while the second gives us a glimpse of the dashboard and cabin layout. Our sources have confirmed that the Bayon will launch in India in October 2026, ahead of Diwali.
The first teaser sketch gives us a glimpse of the Bayon’s front-end design.
The SUV appears to feature a sharply styled, angular front fascia, with LED daytime running lights positioned towards the outer edges.
The teaser also shows what appears to be a faux silver skid plate at the bottom of the bumper. Above it sits a slim grille opening integrated into the lower portion of the front bumper.
Unlike the current Venue, which has a relatively rounded and compact front fascia, the Bayon appears to adopt a more upright and visually wider design. This ties in with our earlier reports suggesting that the India-spec SUV could have a more SUV-like and boxy appearance than the global Bayon.
Hyundai have not yet revealed the complete front-end design, so details such as the exact headlamp configuration, grille design and bumper treatment remain under wraps.
The second teaser provides the first official glimpse of the Bayon’s interior. The dashboard features a twin-screen layout, with one screen serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other as the touchscreen infotainment system. We expect the top-spec Bayon to get two 10.25-inch displays, similar to the setup offered in the current Creta.
The teaser also reveals vertical AC vents positioned at either end of the dashboard. The dashboard appears to get a dual-tone finish, which should help give the cabin a more premium appearance.
The image also appears to show paddle shifters behind the steering wheel, suggesting that automatic variants of the Bayon could offer a manual shift function. Other details visible in the teaser include a multi-function steering wheel and a relatively clean dashboard layout.

Based on the teaser and our earlier information, the Bayon could offer features such as:
The complete equipment list will be revealed closer to the SUV’s launch.

Adding to the teaser reveal, we also spotted a Hyundai Bayon test mule testing this week. The test vehicle was wearing heavy camouflage, keeping most of its exterior design hidden. However, the overall proportions of the SUV provide some clues about its positioning.
The test mule appears to have a relatively wide and upright stance, supporting our earlier reports that Hyundai could give the India-spec Bayon a stronger SUV character. The heavy camouflage also suggests that Hyundai are still conducting road testing ahead of the SUV’s launch. The latest sighting comes shortly after the company revealed the Bayon name and released the first official design teasers.

The Bayon is expected to occupy the space between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai India’s SUV portfolio. The company currently have the Exter and Venue covering the smaller SUV segments, while the Creta occupies the C-segment SUV space.
The Bayon will give Hyundai an additional SUV for buyers looking for something larger and more substantial than the Venue without stepping up to the Creta.
The SUV is expected to compete with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton. The positioning is quite interesting as our sources suggest the next-generation Creta, which is expected to launch in April 2027, will move further upmarket.

Hyundai are yet to announce the Bayon’s engine lineup. Based on its expected positioning, the SUV is likely to be offered with the same engine options as the Creta, including a 1.5L normal petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engine with a choice of manual and automatic transmission options. It remains to be seen if the 2026 Bayon will offer a CNG powertrain option.
The normal petrol engine could help Hyundai compete with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Meanwhile, the turbo petrol engine will allow the Bayon to compete with turbocharged SUVs such as the Renault Duster, Nissan Tekton, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
Hyundai have confirmed the name of the SUV but are yet to announce its exact launch date. Our sources indicate that the Hyundai Bayon will launch in India in October 2026, ahead of Diwali.
Hyundai are expected to reveal additional details, including the SUV’s dimensions, powertrain options, features and variants, in the coming weeks. With the latest teasers and the new spy shots, the Bayon is now entering the final phase of its India launch campaign.
